SPUR Student Success Drive

The SPUR Student Success Drive provides new backpacks and academic essentials to children in Lynn, Marblehead, Salem, and Swampscott who would not otherwise have the supplies they need on the first day of school.

Working closely with local school counselors, food pantry directors, social workers, and other social service providers, we identify children who will begin the academic year without the supplies they need to learn.  We use the school supply lists from the districts in which we work to determine what is needed by students at each grade level.  We ask for the community's help in sponsoring the nearly 700 backpacks and secure wholesale pricing to have bulk school supplies delivered to our office to meet the needs of all the students we support.

Once the supplies are delivered, volunteers join us at the SPUR office to fill backpacks with the supplies each student needs and a personalized note sharing best wishes for a terrific school year.
